Burnham House - Temecula, CA, USA

This private residence was the home of the George A. Burnham family, owners of the Burnham Store/Temecula Mercantile which was located a couple blocks to the east.  This structure began as the Wildomar Hotel which was built in the 1880s.  George Burnham had it moved to this location in the 1890s, modifying it into a home for his family.

Marshall Street Swim Center - Oceanside, CA, USA

The Marshall Street Swim Center is one of two public swimming pools operated by the City of Oceanside.  Located in Marshall Street Park, it is presently closed while the city seeks an outside party to operate and maintain the facility.




Located at 1404 Marshall Street at the end of the cul-de-sac.

Marshall Street Park - Oceanside, CA, USA

Marshall Street Park is a small neighborhood park operated by the City of Oceanside.  It features a playground for children and picnic tables, and is the location of the Marshall Street Swim Center, one of Oceanside's two public pool facilities.


Located at 1400 Marshall Street at the end of the cul-de-sac.

Vista Fire Department-1929 - Vista, CA, USA

Vista Fire Department-1929 is a mural painted by artist Doug Davis.  It was dedicated to the City of Vista by the Vista Village Business Association in 2000.



Located on the east exterior wall of the Curbside Cafe at 307 Main Street.

I.O.O.F. Building - Oceanside, CA, USA

The brick I.O.O.F. Building was built in 1924 by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Lodge #346.  The door to the far right leads to the stairway to the second floor where the Odd Fellows held, and continue to hold, their meetings.  The J.C. Penney Company leased the downstairs portion of the building in 1929 and occupied it for forty years until they relocated to the newly built Plaza Camino Real Shopping Mall in Carlsbad.  Various businesses have occupied the downstairs space since that time, including an Amvets thrift store in the 1970s.


  
This sign has hung on the front of the building since at least the early 1950s, and probably much earlier than that.

Utility Box Art - Oceanside, CA, USA

In 2008 the Oceanside Arts Commission facilitated the painting of 20 gray utility boxes located at the Oceanside Harbor by volunteer artists.   The project took two years to complete.
 
 
 
This painted utility box depicts an ocean scene.  It is signed J. Crawford '08.

Look Both Ways - Encinitas, CA, USA

Look Both Ways, a sculpture by artist Carolyn Guerra, was on display in San Diego Botanic Garden (formerly Quail Botanical Gardens) from September 12, 2009 through March 1, 2010.  It was constructed from concrete with ceramic and glass inserts over insulated concrete foam.  The 79-inch tall sculpture was part of the second annual Sculpture in the Garden exhibit, a collaboration between San Diego Botanic Garden and the San Diego Fine Art Society.




San Diego Botanic Garden is located at 230 Quail Gardens Drive.

Spencer Valley School - Wynola, CA, USA

Founded in 1876 the Spencer Valley School District is one of the last remaining one-school districts in San Diego County.  The present one-room schoolhouse was built in 1905, replacing an earlier structure.  Additional buildings in a complimentary style were added in 1987 providing modern facilities.  Spencer Valley School is a public elementary school with a student population of 30-35 children.

Crandall Residence - Oceanside, CA, USA

This Spanish Revival style structure built in 1924 was the home of Oceanside physician and surgeon Henry F. Crandall.  At the time of the 1930 U.S. Census Dr. Crandall was listed as the homeowner and he, his wife Pearl S. and son Edwin F. were the occupants.  Presently the building houses the Law Office of Esther Sanchez, an Oceanside City Councilmember and attorney.



Located at 708 Civic Center Drive (formerly Fourth Street).
